Perfume Facts
The word perfume used today derives from the Latin "per-fume", which means 'through smoke'. Perfumery refers to the art of making perfumes, and began a long time ago in Egypt although it wasn't refined until adopted by the Romans and Arabs. Since then -along with cosmetics- it has become a huge industry with sales of over $6 billion dollars a year (just in the US) reported by the US Economic Census 2002. Still, it's importance and relevance crosses boundaries and it has become more than just a cosmetic appliance or a business. In this section, we provide general Perfume Facts for anybody interested in more: We hope you enjoy it and visit us back soon. We will update this section periodically.
